Street Pharmacy in the studio recording NEW album: A Perfect Convenience

Street Pharmacy is back in the studio and has begun recording the first half of their upcoming album A Perfect Convenience. In a recent video, lead singer Ryan Guay described the album’s new theme and sound. “It’s a very aggressive record, it’s darker than some of our other stuff,” said Guay. “I think we’ve developed a sound that’s entirely unique. There’s a lot less reggae on this album but it’s still got the same groove and the same vibe.”

A Perfect Convenience is Street Pharmacy’s forth album and includes the singles “Stone Bricks and Mortar” and “Blowing Up”. Since appearing on Much Music’s disBand a year ago, the band has gone from playing in basements to working with industry heavyweights and touring across Canada. “This is the first time in our band’s history that we have had money to spend on making an album in a real studio,” wrote Guay on MySpace. “We are super stoked to actually be working with some of the industry’s best.” A Perfect Convenience is being produced by Greig Nori, who has also produced for Hedley and Sum 41, and Justin Koop, former producer for Saint Alvia and Silverstein.

The catchy first single “Stone Bricks and Mortar” is sure to please die hard Street Pharmacy fans and the band’s darker sound is sure to attract new clientele. A Perfect Convenience will be released in 2011 and their brand new video is on heavy rotation at MuchMusic.com.
