To celebrate the launch of their new single, “Get Rich in Vegas” on April 16th, 2012 and their debut album, self titled, A FRIEND IN LONDON late May, The band are excited to announce they are joining “New Kids on the Block” and the “Backstreet Boys” as support on their European / UK Tour beginning April 21st in Dublin, Ireland. The tour will take the band to arenas across the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Full list of stops below
For this lifetime opportunity, A FRIEND IN LONDON will release a new remix of a “New Tomorrow” in collaboration with Howie D from the Backstreet Boys. We will release this remix also on April 16th.
A FRIEND IN LONDON was formed in 2005 when 4 guys met at a School of Performing Arts in Vostrup, Denmark. From day one the hunt for powerful and catchy melodies was the main focus of the band. Through the past years the band has been touring Denmark with more than 200 shows refining the expression of their work. The music combines the simplicity of boy-band pop with the complexity of British influenced indie rock backed by powerful choir arrangements.
In 2008 A FRIEND IN LONDON won the European final of the Bodog Million Dollar Battle of the Bands, with more than 40.000 bands from around the world participating. This event ignited a spark for the band in Canada and since 2009 there has been 3 successful tours in Ontario, Canada including shows at NXNE (North by NorthEast) and Canadian Music Week as well as a performance at Breakfast TV, no.1 morning show in Toronto.
In 2011 A FRIEND IN LONDON won the Denmark Melodi Grand Prix and came 5th in the European most popular song contest, Eurovision. Within these two TV shows, the band’s exposure reached over 100 million viewers and increased their popularity globally.
2012 will be a defining year for A FRIEND IN LONDON. The band recorded their debut album in Toronto, Canada with Producer David Botrill who produced names like MUSE, PLACEBO, TOOL, PETER GABRIEL, KID ROCK, SMASHING PUMPKINS AND KING CRIMSON and worked with many more. The debut album is set for release internationally summer of 2012.
They have also been busy creating AFIL TV episodes for three seasons and will have exclusive special episodes around this tour for all their fans. Each episode will live on their YouTube page (www.youtube.com/afriendinlondonnet).

Howie D. is a part of one of the world’s largest pop phenomenon, and that I as a little singer from Stevns will be singing with someone from Backstreet Boys, that is absolutely crazy and we love it“, Tim Schou of AFIL says to DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation).
Tim also adds that he hopes this special version of ‘New Tomorrow’ will appear on their debut album, expected to release this spring.
The 2012 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is this Saturday, Jan 21st 2012, at the Gigantium in Aalborg. Eurovision fans can watch the live webcast of this show on DR1, or on its official website.

A Friend In London performed “New Tomorrow” on the DR’s Store Juleshow 2011 with the DR UnderholdningsOrkestret (aka the Danish Radio Sinfonietta) and DR PigeKoret (the DR girl choir).
Danmarks Radio’s Store Juleshow is an annual Christmas show, produced by Danish Broadcasting Corporation, formerly called Danmarks Radio. Danish actress and comedian Ditte Hansen hosted this year’s show in the Tivoli Congress Centre.
