To celebrate the launch of their new single, “Get Rich in Vegas” on April 16th, 2012 and their debut album, self titled, A FRIEND IN LONDON late May, The band are excited to announce they are joining “New Kids on the Block” and the “Backstreet Boys” as support on their European / UK Tour beginning April 21st in Dublin, Ireland. For this lifetime opportunity, A FRIEND IN LONDON will release a new remix of a “New Tomorrow” in collaboration with Howie D from the Backstreet Boys. We will release this remix also on April 16th.
A FRIEND IN LONDON was formed in 2005 when 4 guys met at a School of Performing Arts in Vostrup, Denmark. From day one the hunt for powerful and catchy melodies was the main focus of the band. Through the past years the band has been touring Denmark with more than 200 shows refining the expression of their work. The music combines the simplicity of boy-band pop with the complexity of British influenced indie rock backed by powerful choir arrangements.
In 2008 A FRIEND IN LONDON won the European final of the Bodog Million Dollar Battle of the Bands, with more than 40.000 bands from around the world participating. This event ignited a spark for the band in Canada and since 2009 there has been 3 successful tours in Ontario, Canada including shows at NXNE (North by NorthEast) and Canadian Music Week as well as a performance at Breakfast TV, no.1 morning show in Toronto.
In 2011 A FRIEND IN LONDON won the Denmark Melodi Grand Prix and came 5th in the European most popular song contest, Eurovision. Within these two TV shows, the band’s exposure reached over 100 million viewers and increased their popularity globally.
2012 will be a defining year for A FRIEND IN LONDON. The band recorded their debut album in Toronto, Canada with Producer David Botrill who produced names like MUSE, PLACEBO, TOOL, PETER GABRIEL, KID ROCK, SMASHING PUMPKINS AND KING CRIMSON and worked with many more. The debut album is set for release internationally summer of 2012.
