IN THE STUDIO: Organ Thieves Indie Week Update & FREE EP Download

Attention Organ Thieves fans. We’ve got some good news and some bad news…

Bad news is, due to some scheduling Organ Thieves will not be performing at this month’s Indie Week 2010.
Instead the band will be hard at work in the studio recording their debut album!

During a recent interview with The Chronicle, front man Chuck Coles mapped out the band’s hectic schedule.
Recording began on Oct. 1 for Somewhere Between Freemen and Slaves at B Town Sound Studio in Burlington, the album will be finalized at Beach Road Studios in Goderich.

Also on board is former Treble Charger front man Greig Nori who is producing the album and excitement for the debut disc is growing.

Steadfast Media recently tweeted “The levels are set, the tubes are hot, bass cabs are in the bathroom. Recording about to go down” and “Organ Thieves killing it in the studio! Jammin out like they were playing live. Tons of energy!”

OT also tweeted “A Friday AND Saturday not boozing. Usually this would be semi-upsetting. Not this time. #havingablast #excessivecoffeedrinking.”
So there it is. no showcase at Indie Week 2010 but Debut Organ Thieves album is being recorded right now as you’re reading this.

Treble Charger (Allmusic)

“Canada’s Treble Charger returns to form on their fourth album, Wide Awake Bored, bridging traditional guitar rock with spunky lyrics. It’s typical jaunty modern rock with an intellect all its own.” – MacKenzie Wilson (Allmusic)

Blending the timeless tastiness of classic synth-pop to the intensity and dynamics of modern punk and the irrefutable rump mobilization of the recent dance-rock insurgence, The New Cities have brought their own form of urban renewal to the Canadian pop-music scene and beyond with their album Lost in City Lights.

The core of the New Cities hail from Trois-Rivières and Montreal QC. After The New Cities released an eponymous EP, produced by Steve Nadeau of Vénus 3 fame, a friend brokered contact with Greig Nori—the onetime frontman of Treble Charger who has since made his mark producing Sum 41 and Hedley. Their first single “Dead End Countdown,” was a smash hit and paved the way for their second single “Leaders of the Mislead” to do just as well. The band spent the fall touring across Canada and the U.K. and had their song “Lost in City Lights” in an episode of Gossip Girl.
